Sip & Strum

Group beginner guitar lessons: 6 week session offered every Wednesday from 7-8:30pm - February 1 - March 15. Instructor: Lauren Cochran. Students will learn 20 open chords, five different strum techniques, and will also learn beginning note reading. Basic bass guitar will also be taught. Dust off those old guitars and join us for Sip and Strum. Cash bar available each class for purchase.

Get Yourself Painting

Group art lessons; 6 week session offered every Thursday from 4-6 pm - February 2 - March 16. Instructor: Trina Teele. For those of you who are wanting to take your next step in learning to paint. Using your own supplies and ideas these classes are like having a (group) private lesson. You’ll get direction from renowned teaching artist and painter, Trina Teele, and you will be inspired by your fellow classmates. A win win! It’s a motivating way to schedule time to paint (or draw) for yourself, get tips and advice and your specific questions answered. Trina will review basic tenets of painting and drawing each week.

Healing Arts Highlight: Knitting Ourselves Together FULL COURSE

Knitting Ourselves Together is a cancer support group and knitting circle that meets every Wednesday at 3:30pm – 5:30pm starting Feb 1, 2023. Knitting instruction will be led by Edith Murphy, who has taught for 20 years; and, Martha Shelton and Elise Bradley will facilitate. Join other survivors, those in treatment, our friends in recovery, and our caregiver warriors to knit socks, hats, and blankets for other patients. Come knit, meet other warriors, chat, and enjoy a cup of coffee. Supplies: More advanced students are encouraged to bring their own needles.

About Arts Education Winter 2023

The CCA offers arts education classes in visual art, dance, theater, music, and textiles. We provide learning opportunities that encourage social interaction, while building imaginative, cultural, and physical expression.
