About South Gate Stuart Raceway
- The Stuart Raceway is the oldest consecutively run dirt race track with all volunteer help at the same location in the United States. Established in 1953 the 2020 season will be 68 years. The ¼ mile track located in the middle of City Park, between the baseball diamonds and the football field, has seen numerous recent improvements including a new announcer and scorer stand, new lighting, pit office/weigh building, and deck seating in the grandstands. We have a twelve-race schedule with several special events and six full time divisions of cars: NOW Micro Sprint 600cc classes: Winged A and Stock Non-Wing, IMCA classes: Hobby Stock, Stock Car, Northern SportMod and RaceSaver Sprint, that race on Sunday night. We try to be a family friendly track by keeping the price low. Admission to the raceway is $12 for adults, $5 for kids 6 to 12 years of age, and free for preschoolers and younger. Pit passes are $25 for non-driver $30 for driver. Fans can park on the north side of the football field and watch the races from their vehicle; this option allows families to enjoy a barbecue or picnic and gives younger kids some play time during the evening. We are proud to have two modern concession stands with clean restrooms. The track also helps sponsor a large fireworks show at the town’s Fourth of July celebration.
